| Can
I install Maxinote on any
phone? |
Unfortunately
not.
Maxinote is sold on the
basis that it will be used
on a phone with a specific
IMEI (International Mobile
Equipment Identity) serial
number.
The registration code (regcode)
you were given at purchase
time is generated from the
IMEI you provide. (Make sure
you enter the correct 15
digit IMEI code when
prompted).
This is to prohibit multiple
unauthorised usage of
Maxinote on any phone
without purchasing the
required licence. If
your regcode does not unlock
Maxinote on a phone it
is because the IMEI number
(Dial *#06# to see it) is
invalid.
This will only be the case
if:
(a) Your phone IMEI has been
altered
(b) Your are trying to run
Maxinote on a different
phone with a different IMEI
In these instances your
regcode will *not* match the
phone IMEI and will
require the purchase of a
new licence. Once a new
licence is purchased a new
regcode will be issued to
you for use on the phone
with the new IMEI.

| What
is the difference between
the Trial version and the
Full version of Maxinote? |
The
trial (demo) version of
Maxinote will allow you to
do everything except:
(a) Save your editor text
(b) Send or transfer your
editor text outside of the
application.
In most cases, your text
will be substituted with a
demo text message.
The full version of Maxinote
will allow
you to:
-Save your text
-Send your text directly to
a mobile
-Copy/paste the editor text
into another application
-Send your text to a native
editor (e.g. SMS, Email,
MMS)
-Send your text via
Bluetooth or IR
-Copy text to the native
Calendar, etc. |
|
If I copy a
file to my \General folder it contains
weird □
characters.
How do I correctly transfer a
text file from an external application to
Maxinote? |
| Make sure the original note is saved in
'Unicode' format before
transferring to Maxinote.
Remember, if your text file
has more than 5000
characters it will be
truncated because that is
the maximum note size. |
|
|
When I try to save my HotText amendment it keeps reverting back to the original text.
Why is it doing that? |
| If
you are editing a HotText
cell whilst in 'predictive text' mode
- move the cursor to the end of the text
(i.e. off the word so the word isn't highlighted)
before you save it. |
|
| Can I move the cursor diagonally to get to corner characters
more quickly?
|
This is an Interesting
question.
To move diagonally (for example,
to get to [ i ] or [ e
]) you would normally have to perform two key movements:
an up key press - followed by a right key press.
However, if you press the corners of the navigation-key on some
Nokia N-Series phones this may have the effect of firing two
events - in this case, an
<up>key press event and a
<right>key
press event. With a little practice you may be able to navigate
diagonally with a single key press.
TIP: You can
always press your phone's green
(call) key to
use the 'corner-characters' keypad.

How do I copy/paste text to/from the
Maxinote editor? |
Press the * key (or pencil key on some older phone models).
This feature is usually available in any application where you have the ability to
enter text, and you can see a 'blinking cursor', e.g. messaging, notepad, calendar etc.
Alternatively, if working in Maxinote mode - use the Options->Edit feature. |
